An accomplished and versatile guitarist, soulful vocalist, gifted songwriter, and exciting performer. Johnson-Jay Medwik-Daley's music reflects his passion for his art, his technical skill and discipline, and his experience in the music industry. He has captivated audiences in both his home country of Australia, and England where he currently resides, and he's quickly developing a devout international following.

JJMD's career began when he was only nine, singing in a vocal group with his two sisters in the Manly Corso (a beach town near Sydney). At the same age he took up the guitar and after six months he was proficient enough to accompany himself. By age 16 he was gigging professionally around Sydney and landed leading roles in various amateur plays and musicals. He also scored a featured role in Home and Away and performed the song 'I've Got a Plan' by Australian group 'My Friend the Chocolate Cake'.

Upon leaving school in 2000 JJMD has performed with some of Australia's finest musicians. He began writing and recording his own material In 2002. He was a guest artist on the Orion (a five star expedition cruise ship) on and off between 2005 and 2006 where he performed in a duo with one of New York's premier contemporary pianists 'Hal Weary'.

In 2006 JJMD was a finalist in Australian pop idol and achieved nation wide cult status. He has also worked as a session musician for some of Sydney's top producers including Ash Maklad and Craig Porteils.

Since then he has recorded a collection of recent compositions entitled 'Destiny's Care.'
" I wanted to do something that was essentially a live recording, with some sparse and intricate arrangements involving layered acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins and ukes and various percussion instruments, and vocals of course. 'Everything you hear comes from myself and Duncan (Duncan Wilson - percussionist from band Meniscus).
" It was a real challenge but I think it's more authentic and honest as a result, most modern music producers insist on editing the vibe out of the music, it's more of a risk to just leave all the moments and mistakes and retain the feel"

Now calling the UK his home (thanks to his oldest sister talking him into coming over), he continues to perform regularly around London and the South East of England as well as being in the process of recording a new album.

JJMD's influences include The Beatles, Queen, Tom Waits, Wes Montgomery, Jose Gonzalez, Michael Jackson, The Eagles, Andrea Segovia, Christy Moore, The Who, and countless others.
